WHAT DO YOU NEED TO GET A VIRTUAL ORGAN

In this page I try to explain  what is the minimum required to play with a VPO.

To get your own VPO here is the minimum you need :
  1. A VPO sofware , I invite you o download HAUPTWERK-4 free edition.
  2. A sample set.  Ste-Anne Moseley is given with Hauptwerk. But you can also download other samplesets like Ste-Augustine Neutral Bay (free).
  3. A Midi/USB keyboard and/or a music notation software like Harmony-Assistant, Finale, Sibelius ...
 Pour avoir votre propre VPO, il vous faut :
  1. Un logiciel de VPO : je vous invite à télécharger HAUPTWERK-4. version gratuite.
  2. Un sampleset.  Ste-Anne Moseley est donné avec Hauptwerk-4, mais vous pouvez aussi télécharger d'autre samplesets comme Ste-Augustine Neutral Bay (gratuit).
  3. Un clavier MIDI/USB et/ou un logiciel de notation musicale tel que Harmony-Assistant, Finale, Sibelius ...
VPO WITHOUT KEYBOARD VPO SANS CLAVIER
You can use a VPO without any Midi keyboard :
  • You can read and play Midifiles with the Internal Midi player/recorder of Hauptwerk-4
  • You can control your VPO with Midi messages sent by a sequencer or a music notation software like Harmony-Assistant, Finale, Sibelius ...In this case you will need also a software called Virtual Midi Cable like  LoopBe to link the Midi-out port of the software to the Midi-in port of Hauptwerk.
 Vous pouvez utiliser un VPO sans possèder de clavier Midi :
  • Pour lire des fichiers Midifile avec le lecteur/enregistreur Midi integré à Hauptwerk.
  • En contrôlant le VPO avec des messages Midi envoyés par un séquenceur ou un logiciel de notation musicale tel que Harmony-Assistant, Finale, Sibelius ...Dans ce cas il vous faurdra un câble Midi virtuel tel que LoopBe pour relier le port Midi-out du logiciel au port Midi-in d'Hauptwerk.
LoopBe1 is used to transfer MIDI data between computer programs thanks to your internal hardware. In fact, the MIDI sound of an application is acquired by another one as a source. The program can manage 8 applications to the inport of LoopBe and 8 applications to its outport, all sending and receiving sounds in real time. In order to avoid MIDI feedback, LoopBe is equipped with a powerful shortcut detection. LoopBeLoopBe permet le transfert de messages Midi entre plusieurs pogrammes d'un même ordinateur. Le logiciel peut traiter en même teemps et een temps réel 8 signaux d'entrée et 8 sorties.
Il possède une sécurité efficace contre les bouclages indésirables (Midi feedback).
VPO WITH A SINGLE KEYBOARD VPO AVEC UN SEUL CLAVIER
Make your first VPO with a Midi synthesizer or Midi master keyboard.

Connect the USB cable of the Keyboard to a USB socket of your computer, or connect the Midi-out of the keyboard to the Midi-in of the computer. If the computer has no Midi-in, add a Midi-to-USB interface (the price is less than 20 €).
Set the Midi receive channel of  one or each manual of the VPO to the same number than the Midi send channel number of the keyboard.
If the keyboard has a split function, use two Midi channels to contriol  separately great and swell of your VPO.		 Mini virtual organ with a single manualConstruisez votre premier VPO avec un synthétiseur ou un clavier maitre.

Reliez le câble USB du clavier à une des prises USB de l'ordinateur ou reliez la sortie Midi-out du clavier à la prise Midi-in de l'ordi. Si l'ordi n'a pas de port Midi, ajoutez une interface Midi-vers-USB (coute moins de 20 €).
Reglez le canal de reception d'un ou plusieurs claviers du VPO sur le même nummero que le canal de sortie du clavier Midi.
Si le clavier Midi est splitable, utilisez deux canaux differents pour contrôler séparement le G.O. et le récit du VPO.
VPO WITH SEVERAL KEYBOARDS VPO A PLUSIEURS CLAVIERS
Important : be sure each keyboard can be set with a different Midi output channel.
If they are USB keyboards, there is no problem.
If they are not USB but with Midi-out port, you will need a small hardware called a Midi merger. The price of a 4 inputs Midi merger is around 100 €..
A 4 inputs allows to connect 3 manuals and a pedalboard.
Caution : two 2 inputs is not a good solution, buy a 4 inputs.		 Important : assurez-vous que chaque clavier peut utiliser un canal de sortie différent.
Si les claviers sont USB pas de soucis.
S'ils sont uniquement Midi, il vous faudra un petit boitier dit Midi merger. Prennez un modèle à 4 entrées qui vous permettra de réaliser un orgue 3 claviers plus pédalier.
Attention : 2 mergers à 2 entrées ne remplaceront pas un merger à 4 entrées, pensez-y.
